Many retail investors in fact understand tech better. Just look at Tesla and the recent GameStop rally. But instead most fall due to impatience and lack of basic tools, knowledge and financial education.

Global tech only has two outcomes: Giant success or catastrophic failure. 1000x or zero, with little in-between. Before reaching either end point, the asset prices will trend for extended periods.

Truth is, there are no easy get rich quick schemes that work with consistency. But there are plenty of “get rich slow schemes”. It just takes education, tools, consistency and time. Then most people are no longer interested.
